I grew up in Trinity County. Swimming in the river every summer is a local pastime! Boogie boarding and swimming in the currents had me lost for hours! Rafting was an end of the year treat at my grade: we had a teacher who was an avid whitewater kayaker and she would put trips together every summer. Cal-Poly Humboldt offered whitewater camps for junior guides, and other non-profits took local youth on many day trips. I was fortunate to grow up in such a beautiful area! In 2017, I began guiding as a professional guide, and was an instructor at Guide Schools for 6 years.
